A Day in the life of the Business and System Operations Support team member

• Each day is different, exciting and challenging based on the current priorities of the business and the current technical challenges associated with achieving them
• There is frequent checking of the overall environment by keeping an eye on production monitoring tools
• Investigation of notifications generated by tools such as Logstash and Kabana, among others
• Use proprietary tools for both incident management and production monitoring
• Track ongoing incident taking ownership until they are resolved
• Frequent investigation required into: Issues with CI tool and Issues with deployment
• Participate in provisioning and capacity planning / load balancing – reviewing resources being used for production, adjustments to CPU / Cores / Batch job / Job Control
• Participate in release management and execution for the main technology stack, both out of business hours and during
• Facilitate infrastructure as code using Ansible to build and deploy
• Use continuous integration tools such as Team City, Jira, Bit Bucket, SonarQube, StackAnalyzer
• Perform PowerShell module maintenance
• Getting involved in process improvement and optimization, eg. consistency of servers & environment setup with Ansible; CICD flow and maintenance improvements
• Frequently use strong DB skills in investigations, maintenance and improvements

• 4+ years of working experience in Technical Application Support Engineer or related role
• Extensive technical application support background with varied hands-on experience of supporting and releasing technical solutions for clients, preferably in a Microsoft environment
• Strong MS SQL knowledge with the ability to interrogate data stores and investigate the resulting data set
• Strong PowerShell or similar scripting experience
• Good understanding of ITIL processes, in particular a structured approach to continuous improvement of the production environment
• Ability to read and debug C# at a basic level is highly desirable
• RDBMS optimization skills would be a plus
• Knowledge of OOP language is a plus
• Be familiar with JIRA, BitBucket, TeamCity, Artifactory and Control-M or similar technologies
• You form strong, honest and mutually respectful relationships with the key client, visiting Client’s office if required
• Fluent English B1+ or higher and good communication skill with technologists and business users at all levels
