The Software Engineering Chapter Domain  

Within the chapter domains we live agile values and focus on the expertise. The Software Engineering Chapter Domain gives the associates a harbor to meet and exchange with other experts and to grow their functional competence level and soft skills. The experts will work in cross-functional squads to create the high quality products, solutions and services that our customers need. 

The Backend Development Chapter Area 

Our Backend Developers Chapter is the backbone of our organization's digital products, ensuring robust, scalable systems that provide seamless user experiences, efficient data processing, and secure functions. We foster collaboration with frontend developers, designers, Architects, DevOps Engineers and product owners, integrating our efforts to create comprehensive solutions. Our ethos lies in constant learning and adaptation to new technologies. Our influence extends beyond the realm of code, propelling the organization towards growth and success. As Backend Development Chapter Lead 

You are accountable for enabling functional excellence within your Chapter; thus, you ensure we do ‘the thing right"; you work actively in a Squad with 50% of your capacity.

You as functional excellence master:   

• take responsibility that your specific Chapter reaches functional mastery 
• translate functional priorities into training and enablement of your Chapter 
• implement and ensure consistency of standards and governance, drive methodological approaches 

You as people developer: 

• ensure necessary resources are available at the required skill level for BD teams, manage capacity by recruiting & upskilling 
• ensure excellent onboarding experience for newcomers and talent retention 
• lead Chapter Member and ensure their continuous development 
• align and grow new areas of expertise within your Chapter 
• create open and inspiring environment for learning and innovation 

You as a communicator: 

• represent Chapter within the Chapter Area or within the Tribe/Alliance  
• act as expert and digital thought leader to help alliance and Tribe Leads to identify the necessary expertise 
• actively promote and drive agile ways of working  
• foster exchange and collaboration to create alignment within Chapter

Your personality:

• you are passionate about technology, your Chapter’s area of expertise, have an eye for breakthrough innovations and the urge to offer your Chapter Members a functional harbor 
• you are a strong communicator combined with high resilience and empathy  

Your work style:  

• you understand your contribution as “servant leader”, non-hierarchical leadership style, ability to motivate and empower your Chapter 
• you solve conflicts with empathy and resilience, you deal with feedback in a constructive way 
• you have a high interest in driving methodological approaches and standards 

Your experience and know-how:  

• you have >1 years of leadership experience (e.g., project management, line mgmt., etc.)  in the IT or software industry (comprising a focus on technology and business) preferably with financial business responsibility 
• you are an expert in the Chapter’s area of expertise 
• you are an expert understanding of customer requirements, trends, methodologies, tooling, standards and processes in the respective area of expertise 
• you have experience in working in an agile environment with agile methodologies 
• you have experience in defining and setting standards as well as improving methodological approaches within Chapter´s area of expertise 

Your educational background:  

• you have a university degree in computer science or equivalent. 

Your language skills:

• excellent knowledge of English is required and German is an asset.
