A – Job Summary 

We are seeking a Junior System Administrator to assist with the installation, maintenance, and support of our school’s computer systems, networks, and related hardware and software. The Junior System Administrator will work closely with the IT team to ensure our school’s network and computers are running smoothly.   

The Junior System Administrator should have a good working knowledge of Google Apps and virtualization technologies such as VMWare and Veeam. The successful candidate must also be highly organized and have excellent English communication skills.

B – Essential duties and responsibilities 

1. Install, configure, and maintain Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems 
2. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to computer systems and networks. 
3. Configure and maintain network hardware such as routers, switches, and wireless access points. • Ensure the security of the school’s computer systems and networks. 
4. Monitor and maintain the school’s Google Apps environment.
5. Monitor, maintain, and configure virtualized environments using VMWare and Veeam. 
6. Ensure that all software is up-to date and properly licensed. 
7. Respond to user inquiries and requests for technical support. 
8. Perform routine maintenance and software upgrades. 
9. Manage user accounts and ensure that users have proper access to the systems and networks. 
10. Create and maintain detailed documentation of the network and systems.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 
• 3+ years of experience working with computer systems, networks, and related hardware and software. 
• Proficiency with Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. 
• Good working knowledge of Google Apps and virtualization technologies such as VMWare and Veeam. 
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
• Highly organized and detail-oriented. 
• Excellent English communication and customer service skills.
